Interaction Effect of Stand Age and Diversity on Aboveground Wood Carbon Accumulation in Subtropical Mixed Forests of the Zhejiang Province (China)

Aboveground wood carbon (AWC) stocks in forest ecosystems are mediated by biotic and abiotic variables. Understanding the internal regulatory mechanisms of forests is important for future management global climate change mitigation. However, how these factors affect AWC subtropical mixed remains poorly understood. Using a database from National Forest Inventory (NFI) China, we observed effects variables (temperature precipitation), stand structure indices (stand density DBH coefficient variation diversity), diversity (taxonomic diversity, functional phylogenetic on coniferous (CMF), coniferous–broadleaf (CBMF), broadleaf (BMF). Meanwhile, examined based linear model structural equation each forest. We found that both can through their indirect function, aligning with niche complementarity effect. Stand age an factor affecting because it interacts diversity. Our study highlights dependent regulation structure, which be crucial boosting high forests.
